At the end of last year I had an email From Emily and Chloe in Scotland. It was a really unusual request. They were organizing a 'hen break' for their friend , Francis, who is getting married in June. They knew that Francis loves here clay and wanted to have a sculpture workshop for about twelve friends . This was such a thoughtful thing to do. After suggesting a few possible venues in Kent the group decided that they would like to see if we could do our workshop at Walmer Castle. Having worked with Walmer many times before they were only to happy to help. The day was arranged so that Francis and friends arrived and spent an afternoon sculpting shapes from Walmers Garden into a bridal wreath. We were in the Queen Mothers sunroom which has an amazing view over the sea. At 4o clock everything stopped for tea- high tea of course! Walmer,as always did an amazing job with doorstep sandwiches and fresh baked scones. After this they went on a private tour of the gardens. A really special day and I was so lucky to be part of it.
